Gefen knows about the problem but remains silent about the issue. Unfortunately, unless all your devices are using identical video chipsets and putting out identical (or as close as possible) signals, you will never get both displays synchronized. Then use two fine-tuning dials on the front (one for each input) to stabilize the picture. I know the quad switch is double the price, but DO NOT BUY THE 2x1 DVI-DL SWITCH from Gefen!!! It is using an older design and internal chipset and requires you to disassemble it to tweak an internal control dial. I'm only aware of three of them on the market, the two most common are from Gefen (I'm using the 4x1 Gefen and it works perfectly switching my primary display between my G5 quad, two PCs and my MBP. Just thought I'd put in my piece of advice about DVI-DL KVM switches. If I get a 30", then I need to also get an expensive dualink DVI KVM, but the dell is so less expensive, getting that over the apple would completely offset the cost of the switch. I don't want to pay big monthly fees for each IP based device I add onto my account. into AT&T and they would own me out of centralized data convenience. Why not data? Then I could tie in my iPad, my refrigerator, my alarm system, etc. I pay $100 a month just for data! It's/I'm crazy/stupid. Give me 6GB for $60 to share amongst all of my phones. I would much prefer a family plan "pool" of data. So I think AT&T is loving me paying them $60/month for an actual usage of less than 2GB per month spread across two phones. I have spiked to 1.4GB, but that was only once. My wife has never used over 400MB in any one month, yet I fear to give up her unlimited that I'm paying $30 a month for. I would be much more inclined to drop my unlimited.ĪT&T doesn't hate all unlimited iPhone users. Don't make me pay $20 more per month just for the ability to use a feature of the phone. If I go over, charge me $20 for an additional 2GB. I guess where I was going with it is for AT&T to charge me $25 for 2GB. Its 45 vs 30 a month, do 15 x 50,000 theoretically thats a loss of 750,000 a month profit for At&t or 9,000,000 USD a year, I think capturing this would make my boss happy wouldn't it?

If you go Data pro you must decline the unlimited GF ( the way i understand it) Please Apple: You know this makes sense! There are LOTS of people waiting for the MacPro Mini!īecause it get's you off the unlimited GF plan then. But MacPro would still offer substantial benefits over the Mini, so the people looking at the $1999 MacPro Mini would start to think "why not spend just a bit more, and get a MacPro with all these additional features?". If they did something like that, I would buy one in a heartbeat.
MacPro would be all quad (starting from 2x 2Ghz, through 2x 2.33Ghz to 2x 3Ghz), whereas Mini would be 1x 2.33Ghz and 1x 2.66Ghz. MacPro would also have four drive-bays for HD's (hot-swappable, maybe? ()), whereas MacPro Mini would have just two. MacPro would have two 16x PCI-E slots (for dual-graphics), and maybe 3 PCI-E 8x slots. What I think will happen is that the "MacPro Mini" will have one 16x PCI-E slot, and maybe two PCI-E 8x slots.

A simple box with a Conroe processor, a real replaceable video card, no additional PCI slots (those are reseved for the Pro models), with room for one or two full size HDs, a DVD, wireless, bluetooth, etc. So what will use the Conroes? How about the Apple Mac.

Current PowerMacs have just one type of CPU in 'em, it just happens that one model has two of them.ģ) The Mac Pros will all have dual Woodcrests, the MBP & iMac will get Meroms, the MB and Mac mini will stick with the Yonahs.
